The endearing story of a smart, perceptive and loving canine who learns his purpose in life through the different lives he leads. Beautifully told, the story reveals the dog’s different experiences through his voice.
As the pup travels along the road of learning, he remembers and uses the experiences of his past lives to achieve present day goals and begins to understand the meaning of his life and of his purpose in life to others.
Witty and sensitive, the novel reflects the relationships and love between man and dog and of dogs’ unending devotion to man.
A truly heartwarming novel and a joy to read, warm, insightful, funny, sweet, tearful, and altogether lovely.

GIFT

Review:
Cameron deviates from his message of love and relationships between man and dog, as in the first novel, “A Dog’s Purpose”. Belief and Faith dominate Cameron’s plot in “Emory’s Gift”, his second novel. A coming of age story, Charlie Hall endures the passing of his mother and a grieving, withdrawn father while he suffers the difficulties and insecurities of turning thirteen years old.
Emory the bear comes into Charlie’s life and changes his world, his father’s world, and the goings on in the small town in which they live, Selkirk, Idaho. Although the novel renders tender moments, the book turns from the anticipated story of the relationship between a boy and his bear into religious theories of faith and belief.

Review:
Sweet, warm, and loving, would describe Cameron’s beautifully written sequel about a dog with many lives, who learns that his ultimate purpose is to love humans. The story, told through both human and canine perspectives, expresses sensitivity, humor, sadness, love, and the undeniable bond between people and dogs.
The story reflects back to Cameron’s first novel, “A Dog’s Purpose”, and is every bit as heartfelt. The story begins with Buddy, Ethan’s elderly dog, who believes his purpose is to care for Ethan’s granddaughter, CJ. The story advances through Buddy’s rebirths as he or she searches for CJ, determined to protect her.
Cameron also suggests the hope that after all is said and done, people and beloved pets will meet once again.

Review:
A fast moving, action packed, romantic thriller involving criminals, murder, theft and, the voice of a spirit, in small town Michigan. Unlike Cameron’s, A Dog’s Purpose series, which expounds on the relationships between dogs and men, in the Repo Man series, “The Midnight Plan of the Repo Man”, has very little to do with Ruddy McCann’s relationship with his dog, Jake. The plot focuses on Ruddy McCann’s guilt for his past mistakes, the repo work that he loves, and his future involving crime solving, which he hopes will help catch the girl of his dreams.
Quirky characters but well-written.

The novel depicts the life of Paleolithic Man and the first domestication of the wolf. The story focuses on three tribes and their interactions with each other, with animals, and the relationships within the tribes concerning rules made by leaders or councils, which include hunting, punishment, courting and marriage.
In descriptive passages, Cameron leads the reader on a tour of open grassy lands inhabited by reindeer, lions, mammoths and wolves, and occupied by tribes both non-aggressive and aggressive. The author shows the development of new techniques and new ideas certain tribal members pursue for survival of their tribe. Cameron points out the interesting fact that the difference between the cave man and modern man is only the distance of time and modern technology.
The fascinating book is intelligent, fast-paced, descriptive, and offers a colorful and realistic view of the Paleolithic Era.
