Review:

The novel portrays the effect of guilt and anger upon family members after the youngest of the three children is kidnapped.   Each member handles their grief separately which causes the family to become dysfunctional as each look for their own escape and survival.

 

Unlikeable, non-dimensional, stereotypical characters.

“Who By Fire”, refers to the prayer in the Book of Life…. Who by fire and who by water….ascribed in Judaism as to who will live and who will die in each year during the High Holidays.
