Review:

The story of twelve-year old, Natalie Katz, who resides in Newton Massachusetts, and confronts anti-Semitism for the first time when Natalie’s mother receives a note from a hotel, “The Inn on Lake Devine”, in Vermont, declining their request for vacation stay.  Natalie, precocious and head strong, writes an anonymous letter to Ingrid Berry, owner of the Inn.  Sometime later, Natalie vacations with Robin, a girlfriend from a non-Jewish family, and stays the Inn.

Years later, by happenstance, Robin and Natalie meet.  Robin informs Natalie of her engagement to Ingrid Perry’s son.   Natalie decides to attend Robin’s wedding.

The book is a tale of life’s unanticipated events, change and assimilation.  The well written story flows easily, and hosts a cast of likeable, warm characters.
