Crime novelist, Ann Rule, delineates Harvey Carignan's (HC) assault, rape and murder rampage for twenty-five years against an unknown number of women ranging from Alaska, Minnesota and California to Washington.

HC, convicted of murder, rape and assault, sat on death row in Alaska.  HC’s attorney appealed the conviction on a technicality.  The conviction, overturned by the Supreme Court in 1951, substantially reduced his sentence.  Only  nine years later, HC, on early release from prison, began his horrific, crime spree.  HC assaulted, raped, murdered and escaped moving from state to state.  Finally caught by police in Minnesota in 1975, HC went on trial and was sentenced to decades in prison.

Ann Rule, the author of many true crime books, died in 2015.
