THE BOOK FAIR

Review:

While the fast-paced thriller focuses on locating on a missing, endangered teen, the real story centers on relationships layered in love, lies and guilt.  The story takes place in The Hollows, a quaint, small town, outside of NYC, in present day.  Sheriff Jones Cooper heads the search for Charlene, the missing teen, and girlfriend of Ricky, Jones’s son.  The story deepens with revelations of Charlene’s unhappy home life. 

Unger uses past events to advance the unknown.  Interesting and suspenseful; the novel’s theme of honesty in relationships, and of trusting one’s better instincts in making decisions, runs throughout.
