THE BOOK FAIR

Frances Wingate, renowned archeologist, divorcee, and tireless mother of four children, traverses the globe, from Europe to Africa, giving bold lectures on her archeological theories.  It was Frances’s discovery of Tizouk, which gave her fame among her colleagues.

 

Frances carries a strong sense of accomplishment in her professional life but harbors a sense of foreboding in her personal life.  Years before, Frances had married Anthony Wingate, a man of great wealth with whom she had four children, but the marriage didn’t last as Anthony proved a cold and violent man.  With her youngest child now seven years old, Frances feels less demands of motherhood, and more independence to follow her career.

 

Over the years, Francis had many relationships with men, but no man held her affection, except one.  On a slow back burner of hope, Frances still holds a candle for her one true love, Karel Schmidt, the only man with whom she would like to resume a relationship, but Karl is married.
