Review:

Chloe and Nate Sinclair, share a twenty-five year marriage that harbors a world of secrets.  Chloe unfolds her story in mysterious increments through memories and circumstances, from childhood, to adulthood and the years in between.

Nate and his two sisters, raised by an abusive father and passive mother create an unusual bond of friendship.  After meeting Chloe, the three siblings dream of escape.

Chloe and Nate share their love of literature and books and own a bookstore specializing in first editions, rare finds, antique books.  Although Chloe loves Nate, she tires of their relationship immersed in secrets.  When Nate fails to return home one night, Chloe begins her search for answers using a code they derived when children, a code safely harbored in their books.

Interesting story; well written and well plotted, with good character build up but falls short of the surprise ending intended.
