Inundated with information, the book deserves high praise, however, the material reads like a textbook.  The book is further complicated by the sheer number of Resistance members the author presented,  which, in spite of their heroic actions, left little possibility of connecting with individuals on a personal level.

Part One:  Details the German’s determination to subdue France in collaboration with the Vichy, and the strategies employed to squash, trap and destroy any resistance.

Part Two:  Describes the daily life of the women Resistance members (230) sent to the camps, the endless brutality, starvation, and cruelty and the camaraderie the women shared in the midst of evil.

The book stands as an excellent source of historical data.
