A young American woman caught in the political upheaval.  A young, American woman, Anna, marries a young, Iranian man, Nouri, both college students.   Despite their distrust of the Iranian regime, the couple decides to leave the U.S. for Iran.  The Iranian family’s wealth fails to shield them from the fanatical regime.  After disaster strikes the family, Anna, a despised foreigner, must figure out a way to either survive, or possibly escape.

Aside from the melodrama , the book offers a descriptive illustration of the turmoil in Iran during the Khomeini takeover.  However, the author left unanswered questions at the story’s end.
